Alcatraz Island is fun to circumnavigate, however you can not land a private boat at Alcatraz Island. We can provide you with a water tour of Alcatraz Island, or give you a ride to pier 33 to take Alcatraz Cruises on their Alcatraz Island Tour. The ferry will land at the Alcatraz dock and you can take the award winning tour of the Island.

We can help you plan an event on Alcatraz Island, like a private catered party, and provide boat access to Alcatraz for your caterers, event planners and guests. There have been film openings and large parties on Alcatraz in the past years. We can help you orchestrate such an event.

Again, you can not dock our boats at Alcatraz Island, but it is fun to boat around the island and check it out.

Please note that between the west side of Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge is called "the slot" and is a favorite among sailors. The afternoon summer wind on the San Francisco Bay can be a little much. If you need to cross the bay, please discuss the most pleaSant route with our office manager. Probably east of Alcatraz Island and East of Angel Island coming back through Raccoon straights. The waters between Alcatraz Island and Point Blunt of Angel Island will then be your roughest, but for the shortest amount of time.

We do not reccomend crossing the bay in the afternoon in the middle of summer in our smaller rental boats.
The Anglin Brothers and Frank Lee Morris attempted in their succesSFul escape from Alcatraz swim on the night of June 12, 1962. Every year there is an Escape from Alcatraz swim which is part of the Sharkfest Great Escape Triathalon. We usually provide chase boats.
