BEGIN QUOTE: July 28th through August 1st This summer,International and domestic tall ships and training ship will return to San Francisco Bay, marking the beginning of Sail San Francisco! 2005, a five day tall ship and multicultural festival to take place July 28 - August 1,2005. Historic-classic ships, merchant marine and navy vessels from the United States and abroad will grace the Bay and dock along the waterfront. PRF/Sail San Francisco is honored to host the return of the ships to our city. We believe it is important to share and celebrate the diverse culture and community of both San Francisco and the world. One World, One Ocean. It is our goal to bridge the gap between nations and the further the understanding between peoples of different cultures and backgrounds. Multicultural tall ship events bring people together in at atmosphere of friendship and cooperation; whether it be as shipmates, or as visitors to a new port in a new land, or as citizens of host ports volunteering to help welcome ships and sailors from across the seas or by celebrating our cultural diversity through the arts and diversity forums, we are united in our efforts; we are one. Community support is critical to our success in orchestrating the return of such a historic event to San Francisco.
